 About Mo`olelo
Mo`olelo was founded in San Diego in 2004 as a community-focused, socially-conscious, professional Equity theater company. The Co-Founders of Mo`olelo wanted to address the community needs for greater diversity in San Diego’s arts landscape, deeper arts education opportunities for San Diego youth, and labor-friendly employment for local actors and theater artists. Since its founding, operations have always been labor-friendly, paying Equity wages, health insurance and pensions to local actors; and in 2007, as a natural extension of our socially-conscious vision, Mo`olelo launched a greening initiative and implements environmentally-friendlier theater practices in all our work.

Mo`olelo’s core programming includes: two full theatrical productions each year that present a diversity of voices, issues and communities on stage, extensive community outreach activities, arts education programs in middle and high schools, initiatives to green the theater industry, and tuition-based playwriting and acting classes.
